Interview guide

Face-to-face interviews don’t have to be daunting. To prove it, the Oscar Construction team has pulled together our top tips on how to prepare, relax and nail that interview.
Pre-planning
It’s essential that you invest time preparing for your interview beforehand. Make sure you’ve researched the company and think about how your skills, experience and personality fit with them.
Be upfront
If there’s something you want to say, don’t wait to be asked. Interviews are a two-way conversation so make sure you ask the interviewer any questions you have at appropriate times. Job descriptions and company information aren’t always clear, and the interview is your opportunity to clear anything up that you’re unsure about.
Stay focused
Interviews tend to be short, so make sure you use the time wisely. It can be easy, particularly if an interview is informal, to go off on a tangent when you get asked a question but try to stay on track. An effective way to do this is to repeat part of the question back to the interviewer in your response.
