Superintendent - Highways - Houston

Projects:

- Heavy highway (bridge substructures, bridge deck replacement, superstructures, highway retaining walls, highway drainage structures, post tensioned concrete for heavy civil projects)

Responsibilities:

- Plan and organize field staff

- Organize and manage materials, equipment and subcontractors

- Implement project objectives, schedules, policies, procedures and performance standards within boundaries or corporate policy

- Reinforce compliance of field safety regulations by all field personnel

- Manage change orders and value engineering issues on projects

- Liaise with client and Architects / Engineer contacts to facilitate construction activities

- Monitor & control construction through direction of on-site superintendent to ensure project is completed on schedule within budget

- Assist with labor negotiations & strategy meetings

- Manage financial aspects of contracts (fee payment, rental equipment, income/expenses)

- Prepare & update monthly P3 scheduling for all jobs

- Monthly tracking of profit & loss on all jobs

- Weekly tracking of labor performance on all jobs

Required Skills:

- Minimum 10 years experience working as a heavy highways superintendent

- Minimum 15 years experience with understanding of all phases of heavy civil construction

- BS or AS degree in civil engineering or construction management

- Ability to read blueprints & specs for heavy civil projects

- Outstanding interpersonal/human relations skills

- Outstanding verbal, written communication & presentation skills

- Ideally experienced in using P3

- Proven ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
