We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Transportation Design Engineer to join our infrastructure team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the planning, design, and analysis of diverse transportation projects, including roadways, highways, structural, and transportation drainage. This role requires expertise in design software, a strong understanding of civil engineering principles, and adherence to federal, state, and local standards.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Modeling: Perform complex civil engineering design for transportation projects, focusing on horizontal and vertical alignment, geometrics, super-elevation, and drainage.
Software Proficiency: Utilize industry-standard software, including AutoCAD Civil 3D (or MicroStation/Geopak), to create detailed engineering plans, profiles, and cross-sections.
Standards Compliance: Ensure all design plans meet the requirements of relevant agencies, including AASHTO, State DOTs (e.g., TxDOT, Caltrans), and local municipal codes.
Documentation & Reporting: Prepare technical reports, design memorandums, construction specifications, and cost estimates.
Project Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, environmental specialists, traffic engineers, and construction teams to ensure design continuity and successful project delivery.
Analysis & Studies: Conduct engineering analysis, including traffic simulation, capacity analysis, and impact studies, to support design decisions.
Qualifications
Required
Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
Experience: 2 years of progressive experience in transportation drainage, roadway, or structural design.
Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) License (or the ability to obtain one within 6 months).
Technical Skills: Expert-level proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D (or MicroStation InRoads/Geopak).
Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of highway geometric design, drainage, and utility coordination.
